Adding / Deleting Group Members

Thanks for joining us for another My Bent Tree Help video. In this video for group leaders, we’ll be walking through adding and deleting members from your group, as well as transferring an inquirer to a member role. Please note that this information is not visible to group members, only to group leaders.


Let’s start by logging in, if you haven’t already. On the dashboard page, click on the green circle that says “My Connections.” Your connections are grouped into three categories: Events, Groups, and Serving opportunities. Click on the grey bar that says “Groups” to see all the groups you have signed up for, then select the group you want to add or delete members from. Click on the “Members” tab at the top of the page.


Adding a member

Let’s discuss adding a group member first. This allows you to register someone who attends your group but never actually signed up. Click the green “Add Member” button at the top right. Fill in the fields: First name, last name, and either email or phone number. Then click the green “Add Member” button in the bottom right.


If the addition is not successful, you’ll see a message directing you to contact a staff member. This simply means that the person isn’t in our database yet, and we’ll need to get them added for you first.


Deleting a member

Now let’s discuss deleting a member. Under the “Members” tab, check the box next to the name of each member to be deleted. In the “Actions” drop-down field, select “Remove members” then click the green “Remove selected members” button on the bottom right.


Transferring inquirer to a member

To transfer an inquirer to a member role, click on the “Inquiries” tab at the top of the page. This will show you who has inquired about the group, their phone number, and comments, if they left any. Check the box next to the name of each person you want to transfer. In the “Actions” drop-down, select “Add to group.” A new “Select Role” drop-down will appear on the right. If you are a small group, select “Member.” If you’re a serving team, select “Team Member.” If you’re not sure what type of group you lead, email and we’ll look it up for you. Then click the green “add member to group” button on the right.


Alternately, if the inquirer is no longer interested in your group, select “Remove Inquiries” from the “Actions” drop-down on the left. Then click the green “Remove Inquiries” button on the right.
